Happy Feast of St. Francis!
Dear readers— Today marks the feast day of St. Francis, patron saint of animals. This picture is taken outside the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi, Italy. I'm moved by this depiction of St. Francis as a humble man ready to accept a higher calling in life. St. Francis cared for the sick and taught us that all of God's creation is worthy of praise and respect. Happy Feast of St. Francis—may we learn from the example of his extraordinary life! —Andrew
